Hey Beautiful!

 "Should I cut my hair?"

This is surely the most difficult question most of us have to face. We see a new haircut style, we like it, but the question is: "Will I regret it later on?"

Remember, this is hair, and it most likely will grow out!  However, some people's won't, and we will dive into that problem and its causes later on.

What we will discuss in this article:

  •     Why sometimes hair won't grow out
  •      What hair type do you have/will it work with the haircut?
  •      Is this haircut for you

Yes, like I mentioned, sometimes hair won't grow out, or won't grow past a certain length. These can be caused by many factors, some of which can be:

Why sometimes hair won't grow out :

Do you style your hair with a heat iron often? The constant breakage resulting from heat styling can make it appear like no length was added.  I recommend reducing your heat usage, or using your heat protectant often.

Genetics is another factor resulting in your hair not being able to grow past a certain length. Your DNA sets a maximum length for your growth cycle, and when your hair reaches the set length, it stops growing. Remember, your hair doesn't have to be long for you to be pretty. Enjoy your hair, no matter how it looks.

If it is not genetics, you may need to improve your hair care. You don't have to use tons of products, like all those influencers you've probably been watching. On the contrary, instead of helping, they may cause product build up, and other problems.

Simply avoid harsh brushing, constant bleaching, & tight hairstyles. These alone can slightly improve your hair care.

Hair length/growth can also be affected by your age, and stress. Don't stress over much!

What hair type you have/will it work with the haircut :

Do you have hair that gets puffy unless it's styled?

Do you have thin hair?

Is your hair silky and smooth?

Is your hair thick? Curly? Straight?

These above are just a few of the questions you could ask. I don't know your hair type, but I will give you a few suggestions, & remember, you can always drop a comment below!

If you have puffy hair, I don't recommend short cuts, because you will most likely end up looking like a bush (my mom used to say). I will discuss how to treat puffy hair in another article based on personal experience!

However, if you have silky smooth hair, short cuts will be ideal  for you, but it also depends on your face shape. Small faces look good with short cuts, but long faces should be better with longer hair.

Once again, it also depends on how you look. You can do some more thorough research on this subject, other than just this article. I provided a simple Hair Type Chart, for a little reference.

Is this haircut for you:

Do you know what you prefer? Do  you like taking care of your hair, and using your time on it? Then you might be satisfied with anything you get (layers, bangs, long hair, etc).

You will be finding the questions featured in this blog helpful to ask yourself, they really are helpful to find your true opinion about your hair.

Personally, I would love if you ask me questions in the comment box below, then you may get a lot more specific advice!

I will include a link to a little quiz, to see if you should cut your hair or not, & you can do it for fun!
